Preston Castle Haunt

Do you know we have a real haunted castle right here in Amador County?  Be prepared to be frightened beyond belief, scared senseless, and have your mind warped at the 2022 Preston Castle Haunt, weekends in October starting October 14th, 2022.  This castle is so haunted it was not only featured on “Ghost Hunters” but also “Ghost Adventures,” and “Ghost Asylum” too!  Don’t come thinking this is a historical tour of the Castle.  This is place for you to get seriously frightened!

The Preston Castle Haunt is located at 900 Palm Drive in Ione, California.  The Haunt opens each evening at 6:45 and has two walk through schedules (7 to 8:30 pm or 8:30 to 10 pm).  Tickets are $35 for General Admission (either time slot) or $50 for VIP (for the whole night).  Tickets will go on sale September 1st and will only be available in advance.  To purchase tickets or for more information, please visit the Preston Castle Haunt’s webpage.  You can also reach the Preston Castle Foundation at 209-256-3623 or by emailing info@prestoncastle.org.

Gold Country Horse Day

If you’re interested in becoming a better horseperson or maybe you just love horses and would love to see some of the finest in action, be sure to visit Gold Country Horse Day, Saturday October 22, 2022 in Ione.  This second annual Gold Country Horse Day will feature top clinicians teaching you how to better communicate, handle, and ride your horse.  Clinicians featured will be Susan Wirgler from Wirglers Horse/Human Partnership, JP Dyal from JP Dyal Horsemanship, and Martina Bone from Martina Bone Balanced Riding.  There will also be a drill team demonstration from the California Cowgirls Drill Team and a vendors galore, including Buckaroo Leather, for gifts for that special cowgirl or cowboy.

New York Steak Dinner

The Ione Rotary welcomes you out to get a wonderful steak dinner and help support all the community programs of the Rotary.  The New York Steak Dinner will be held on Saturday, September 24th, 2022 at the Evalynn Bishop Hall, 701 CA-124 in Ione, California.  Included with your steak are a ton of sides and a no-host bar.  Doors open at 5:00 pm and dinner begins at 6:30 pm.  Tickets to the New York Steak Dinner are $50.

Ione Homecoming

Ione welcomes you back for the 147th annual Ione Homecoming. This wonderful event put on by the Ione Picnic Association highlights the best and brightest of Ione.  The 2023 Homecoming celebration will take place on May 12th and 13th.  A schedule of events will be posted when it is released.

Currently, the Ione Picnic Association is looking for non-food vendors.  Booths will be open on May 12th from 4 to 8 pm and on May 13th from 11 am to 6 pm.  There is a $50 booth fee which covers both days.  Booths will be located at the Ione Howard Park.

The Amador County Recreation Agency (ACRA) offers a second opportunity for you to learn the moves that make everyone take notice at every country club, concert, and hoe down this summer.  Starting June 2nd and continuing every first Thursday of the month, ACRA presents Country Line Dance Lessons at the Castle Oaks Golf Club in Ione.  Lessons begin at 6 pm and are $5.
