Celebrate the harvest at Creekside Ione’s 2024 Fall Festival. The Festival takes place on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM! Enjoy a family-friendly evening with local vendors, live music, games, and plenty of fall fun.

Don’t miss the Pumpkin Carving Contest. You can bring your pumpkin already carved from home or get creative and carve one on-site! Kids can carve with adult supervision or painting their pumpkins for a colorful (and safer) twist. As you enjoy the festivities, food trucks will be serving up tasty treats all evening long, so come hungry and ready for fun!

Preston Castle Haunt

If it’s October in Ione, it’s time to be terrified at the Preston Castle Haunt. This year, step into a haunting 1920s traveling circus theme, where the malevolent Ringmaster prowls the eerie halls of Preston Castle. With three stories of chills and thrills, this haunted adventure promises to scare you senseless!

The Haunt runs on Fridays and Saturdays in October beginning October 11th. General Admission tickets for the Haunt are $35, and VIP FastPass tickets are $50 (skip the long lines). On October 11th only, tickets are $30.

The Haunt is located at the Preston Castle, 900 Palm Drive in Ione. Gates open at 6:45 PM, and walk-through times run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM. VIP tickets are valid for any time between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

This experience is not recommended for younger children, as it’s designed to be extremely intense. Parking is free, and food vendors and merchandise (including T-shirts and sweatshirts) will be available.

Celebrate the harvest season at Amador County’s Big Crush Harvest Wine Festival, happening from Saturday, October 5th to Sunday, October 6th, 2024. This annual festival, hosted by the Amador Vintners, provides participants the chance to explore over 45 participating wineries. Enjoy wine tastings, food pairings, live music, and special harvest activities like winery tours, barrel tastings, and witnessing the crush in action.

Tickets range from $50 to $65, with designated driver options for $20 per day. The event runs from 11 AM to 4 PM each day. Upon check-in at your selected starting winery, guests will receive a commemorative wine glass and a map to guide them through the weekend.

Participating wineries include Story Winery, Di Arie, Dobra Zemlja Winery, Helwig Winery, and many more. The festivities kick off with Chalk the Walk at 9:00 AM, where artists of all ages can show off their skills by creating amazing chalk art.

Enjoy a day filled with live music, delicious food from a local food truck, and a variety of craft vendors. Put your scarecrow-building skills to the test by building your spookiest creation in the Scarecrow Contest! For those with a flair for baking, the Pumpkin Pie Contest is your chance to prove you bake the best pie in town. And don’t forget to dress up your furry friend for the Dog Costume Contest and compete for prizes.

A&A Shooters Annual Sporting Clays Shoot

On Saturday, May 13th, 2023, A&A Shooters will present their Annual Sporting Clays Shoot. Adults and youth are welcome. Come show off how good a shot you are while raising funds for a cause. Belt buckles will be awarded for top gun, high male, female, and junior. Awards will also be available for runner-ups and alumni.

To participate in the shoot, 100 targets and lunch will be $85. CYSSA Youth Shooters can shoot targets only for $40. There will also be a silent auction and raffle.

The A&A Shooters Annual Sporting Clays Shoot will take place at Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve, 2951 Curran Rd. in Ione, California. Check-in opens at 7:30 am and the shoot starts at 9 am.

Christmas at the Castle

The Preston Castle will be hosting their annual craft faire, on Saturday December 10th from 10 am to 4 pm. Come get that special gift as over 40 vendors are expected to be there selling everything from arts and crafts to jewelry to other unique gift items just in time for Christmas. And you won’t leave hungry as there will be several food trucks there with holiday treats. Most important for the kids, Santa Clause will be available for pictures between 11 am and 2 pm.

If that wasn’t all, there are also tours available of the Castle’s first and second floors. The Tours are $10 but admission to the craft faire is free! This event is rain or shine.

Ione Christmas Parade

Christmas is alive in Ione on December 10th. The Ione Christmas Parade is just one of the many festivities that will be going on throughout the day. The Parade begins on West Marlette Street and will snake down South Sacramento Street on to Main Street. Parade begins at 11 am.

Be sure to also check out the Christmas Street Market and Christmas at the Castle, also going on in Ione on December 10th.
