Country Line Dance Lessons

The Amador County Recreation Agency (ACRA) offers a second opportunity for you to learn the moves that make everyone take notice at every country club, concert, and hoe down this summer.  Starting June 2nd and continuing every first Thursday of the month, ACRA presents Country Line Dance Lessons at the Castle Oaks Golf Club in Ione.  Lessons begin at 6 pm and are $5.

The Castle Oaks Golf Club is located at 1000 Castle Oaks Drive in Ione, California.  For more information, please call ACRA at 209-223-6359 or email acra@amadorgov.org.  If you’re interested but can’t make the first Thursday, ACRA is offering additional lessons every third Thursday of the month, ACRA will be offering lessons at the Drytown Social Club in Drytown.  For that event page, click here.

Bedbug Challenge 5k Color Run

May 13, 2023 @ 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

This year, the Bedbug Challenge has gone County wide.  Help send Amador County 5th and 6th Graders to Science Camp while you get fit and have fun at the Bedbug Challenge 5k Color Run.  The goal is to raise $125,000 to send 270 students to camp in the spring of 2024. 

The Bedbug Challenge begins at the Castle Oaks golf course and winds through the Castle Oaks neighborhood in Ione, California.  Enjoy 5 color stations plus water and snacks at the finish line.  Participants who register before April 14th receive a free t-shirt.

The Bedbug Challenge will take place on Saturday May 13th, 2023.  Check in begins at 7 am and the race starts at 8.  Entry cost starts at $30 for individuals or $50 for families (up to five…each additional person is $10).  For tickets, please visit the ticketing page on Brown Paper Tickets.   You can also visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bedbugchallenge

Celebration of Lights

Join the Ione community in a celebration of the Holiday season with a Celebration of Lights.  The Celebration of Lights will take place on November 20th, 2021 from 6 pm until 8 pm.  Free appetizer and cookies for the kids will be available from 6 pm to 7 pm and Santa will be available for pictures during the whole event so be sure to bring your phone or camera.
