Lydia Pense & Cold Blood bring a night of soul, funk, and East Bay R&B to the Sutter Creek Theatre on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Joined by Fred Ross of Tower of Power fame, this longtime Bay Area powerhouse promises an evening packed with classic grooves, standout vocals, and a horn-driven sound that helped define the East Bay Grease era.
Lydia Pense & Cold Blood first rose to prominence during the Fillmore’s legendary heyday, when promoter Bill Graham signed the band to his record label after hearing Lydia’s unforgettable voice and the group’s electrifying sound. Through a string of influential albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, they helped shape a distinctive blend of funk, soul, and R&B that still resonates today.
Audiences can expect a high-energy performance from a seasoned group of musicians, along with favorites from the band’s historic catalog. With Lydia Pense still delivering the power and soul that made her a standout, and Fred Ross adding even more vocal firepower, this promises to be a memorable night for fans of classic soul and funk.
