Kit Carson Mountain Men “Days of 49” Wagon Train

April 25 All day

Days of 49 Wagon Train 2026

The Kit Carson Mountain Men’s Days of 49 Wagon Train returns this spring for four days of living history, bringing wagons, riders, and Gold Rush-era pageantry from Plymouth to Jackson. This longtime local tradition gives visitors a chance to see the wagon train on the move, meet the Kit Carson Mountain Men, and enjoy a unique look at Amador County’s pioneer heritage.

Public viewing begins Wednesday in Plymouth, with the wagon train departing the fairgrounds and making stops in Plymouth and Drytown before heading to a private ranch encampment. On Friday, the wagon train travels through Amador City and Sutter Creek, then arrives at the Italian Picnic Grounds in Sutter Creek, where visitors can stop by the encampment. On Saturday, the route continues through Ridge Road to the Kit Carson Mountain Men Hut, Main Street Jackson, and the Amador Senior Center. Nightly campfires are also part of the experience.

The Days of 49 Wagon Train takes place Wednesday through Saturday, April 22–25, 2026, with public stops and viewing opportunities in Plymouth, Drytown, Amador City, Sutter Creek, and Jackson. All public events are free to attend, and all times are approximate due to the nature of wagon travel. Itinerary is below.
