Preston Castle Haunt

If it’s October in Ione, it’s time to be terrified at the Preston Castle Haunt. This year, step into a haunting 1920s traveling circus theme, where the malevolent Ringmaster prowls the eerie halls of Preston Castle. With three stories of chills and thrills, this haunted adventure promises to scare you senseless!

The Haunt runs on Fridays and Saturdays in October beginning October 11th. General Admission tickets for the Haunt are $35, and VIP FastPass tickets are $50 (skip the long lines). On October 11th only, tickets are $30.

The Haunt is located at the Preston Castle, 900 Palm Drive in Ione. Gates open at 6:45 PM, and walk-through times run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM. VIP tickets are valid for any time between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

This experience is not recommended for younger children, as it’s designed to be extremely intense. Parking is free, and food vendors and merchandise (including T-shirts and sweatshirts) will be available.

Christmas at the Castle

December 10, 2022 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Preston Castle will be hosting their annual craft faire, on Saturday December 10th from 10 am to 4 pm. Come get that special gift as over 40 vendors are expected to be there selling everything from arts and crafts to jewelry to other unique gift items just in time for Christmas. And you won’t leave hungry as there will be several food trucks there with holiday treats. Most important for the kids, Santa Clause will be available for pictures between 11 am and 2 pm.

If that wasn’t all, there are also tours available of the Castle’s first and second floors. The Tours are $10 but admission to the craft faire is free! This event is rain or shine.

Preston Castle Volunteer Expo

March 25, 2023 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Have you wanted to serve your community?  Do you want to promote the historic Preston Castle?  You can do both by volunteering at Preston Castle.    Help is needed for tour guides/ docents, event planning, the annual haunt, building repair and maintenance, archives, cashier, event helper, landscaping and gardening, marketing, and grants.  Whatever your skill is, Preston Castle can use your help.  To find out how you can volunteer, join Preston Castle for a volunteer expo on Saturday, March 25th, 2023.  The Volunteer Expo will occur from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Preston Castle Visitors Center.  The Visitors Center is located at 900 Palm Drive in Ione, California.
