Music at the Ranch

The Laughton Ranch Event Center presents Music at the Ranch, a country music concert series showcasing the best local country acts, this summer. 

Shows start at 5 pm with free line dancing lessons. A wonderful BBQ dinner with a rotation of such favorites as BBQ tri-tip, BBQ chicken, cowboy beans, garlic bread, and green salad will be served at 6 pm. The music starts at 7. 

Tickets are available for music only for $20 and $40 for music and BBQ. Children under 10 are free

Barn Dinner & Dance Fundraiser

On October 1st, 2022, join The Amador Community College Foundation as they invite you to a Barn Dinner & Dance to benefit Amador College Connect, a one-stop resource center that helps students connect to online college classes and regional apprenticeship programs.  Come enjoy a BBQ tri-tip steak and chicken dinner, no-host beer and wine bar, dessert and live auctions.  Dance the night away with entertainment provided by Slade & Elky, Those Windburn Brothers.  There will also be a square dance demonstration by the Jackson Claim Jumpers Square Dance Club.

The Kit Carson Mountain Men “Days of 49” Wagon Train rides again.  Mark your calendars for five days of fun, education, and entertainment from Wednesday, April 26th through Sunday, April 30th, 2023.

On Wednesday, April 26, the Wagon Train will depart Plymouth, drive through the 49er Village RV Resort, then through Main Street and then a loop through Shenandoah Valley and returning to the encampment in Plymouth.

On Thursday, April 27, the Wagon Train will start with a pass by Plymouth Elementary School and then head to Drytown through private ranch properties.  The Wagon Train will stop on Spanish Street in Drytown for photos before heading to a nearby ranch for a private encampment.

On Friday, April 28, the Wagon Train will travel down old Highway 49 into Amador City then into Sutter Creek before heading to the evening’s encampment at the Italian Picnic Grounds.  That evening there will be music, entertainment, dancing, and a BBQ dinner available for the community to enjoy.  The Italian Picnic Grounds is located at 581 California Highway 49 in Sutter Creek.

On Saturday, April 29, the Wagon Train will head along Ridge Road then to the Kit Carson Mountain Men Hut in Jackson and then to the Amador Senior Center.  Then Train will then head to their Saturday encampment at Laughton Ranch.  The public is invited to a free, full day of activities including living history programs vendors, entertainment, music and a BBQ.  Laughton Ranch is located at 90 Clinton Road in Jackson.

Finally, On Sunday, April 30, the Wagon Train heads to Main Street in Jackson for the “grand finale” with a large parade of performers, riders, and local historic groups.  That morning, start the day with a pancake breakfast at 9 am.  The parade will begin at 11 am.  Following will be first ever Days of 49 “Street” Celebration, with entertainment, living history, vendors, and kid-filled fun.

Rib Night Fundraiser BBQ Dinner

Enjoy wonderful food, good music, and a fun night under the stars all while supporting a great organization.  On Friday, April 29, 2022, the Amador Polar Bears will present Rib Night Fundraiser BBQ Dinner.  The Dinner will take place from 6 to 9 pm at Laughton Ranch in Jackson.  In addition to dinner and dancing, there will be a silent auction and a raffle.  Tickets are $40 per person.  Tickets are available from Amador Polar Bear Families, from Coldwell Banker in Jackson, or online at www.amadorpolarbears.com.

Laughton Ranch is located at 90 Clinton Road in Jackson, California.  For more information, please contact Sally Arnst at 209-337-5302.  All proceeds from the Dinner support Amador Polar Bears swim scholarships and equipment upgrades.  Amador Polar Bears is a long-standing community program for competitive youth swimmers.

Music at the Ranch

Laughton Ranch presents Music at the Ranch in Jackson.  The Music at the Ranch Summer Concert Series will feature a number of exciting local acts.  Tickets include a BBQ dinner with such favorites as BBQ tri-tip, BBQ chicken, cowboy beans, garlic bread, and green salad.  Snack boxes are also available for purchase.  General admission tickets are generally $35 (+ service fee) with child tickets (12 and under) $15 (+ service fee).

    Mick Martin: On Blues harmonica, Mick Martin has played professionally since 1968 and, since 1983, led “Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers.” On March 31, 1994, Mick did something highly unusual for a harmonica player: he performed at Carnegie Hall for the nationally-broadcast “Blues in Jazz” concert with mentor Jimmy Smith, Jimmy Witherspoon, Grover Washington Jr., Carrie Smith and Mark Whitfield. That same year, he was featured on Jimmy Smith’s Fantasy/Milestone Records release, Sum Serious Blues. Mick has played harmonica on stage behind Freddie King, Jimmy Rogers, Bo Diddley, Mick Taylor, the Yardbirds, Roy Brown and many others. He is a featured artist on Dig Music’s Bob Dylan tribute, “Positively 12th & K,” which also features Sal Valentino and Jackie Greene.
