Jackson Lions Club Halloween Parade

One of the best ways to celebrate Halloween in our County is with the Jackson Lions Club Halloween Parade.  This annual event takes place on Halloween, Monday, October 31st.  The parade begins at the Jackson Fire House on Main Street.  Costume judging begins at 5:30 pm at the Fire House.  The Costume Contest will have classes from Pre-School through 8th Grade and prizes will be awarded by age group. NEW this year is a prize for the Best Family Theme costumes. The prize for the winning family? One year of ACES residential garbage service (valued at $750)!

At 6:00, the parade begins down Main Street Jackson ending with a free Hot Dog Party at the Jackson Civic Center.  There will be candy bags for all!

Miwok Stories Night

The Amador Senior Center invites you for a special presentation of the stories and storytelling of the Native peoples of our area. Miwok storytelling is an art passed down through time immemorium. The stories you will hear during Miwok Stories Night would be told from village to village in the roundhouse, the traditional ceremonial gathering place in each community. Come hear the stories passed down through generations.

Miwok Stories Night will take place Friday, June 16th, 2023 beginning at 6 pm at the Amador Senior Center. The Center is located at 229 New York Ranch Road in Jackson, California.

The presentation is free to attend and all are welcome.

Miwok Stories Night is sponsored by the Miwok Heritage Center and is funded by a grant from the 7th Generation Fund.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Kennedy Gold Mine, Plymouth, and Terra D’Oro Winery performances.  Up to 200 free meals from the Amador Senior Center with Laughton Ranch Catering will be available at the other venues.

Wicked Sisters Summertime Bash

Calling music and animal lovers. On July 23rd, 2023, Wicked Sisters will perform at the Kennedy Gold Mine to raise money for Rusty’s Fund, a savings account for animals in need at the Amador County Animal Shelter. The Summertime Bash will run from 5 to 8 pm.

Tickets will be available at the door with a suggested donation of $5 to $15. All proceeds will go to benefit Rusty’s Fund. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket for seating on the lawn.

Music at the Ranch

The Laughton Ranch Event Center presents Music at the Ranch, a country music concert series showcasing the best local country acts, this summer. 

Shows start at 5 pm with free line dancing lessons. A wonderful BBQ dinner with a rotation of such favorites as BBQ tri-tip, BBQ chicken, cowboy beans, garlic bread, and green salad will be served at 6 pm. The music starts at 7. 

Tickets are available for music only for $20 and $40 for music and BBQ. Children under 10 are free

Goat Feed

Historic St. Sava Church invites you to come celebrate Serbian culture right here in Amador County at their annual Goat Barbeque on Sunday, May 28th, 2023. St. Sava will host a Divine Liturgy at 10 am followed by food, fun, and fellowship with music and a silent auction begins at noon. The goat buffet luncheon will begin at 1 pm featuring locally-produced spit-roasted goat, roasted red potatoes, garlic green beans, slaw, locally-baked Serbian bakery bread, and a dessert buffet. Water and soft drinks are included.

Tickets are available in advance at goat-feed-2023.square.site as well as at the door. Goat Feed tickets are $30 for adult at $20 for teens 13-16. Kids 12 and under are free. Tickets for a drink at the wet bar featuring Serbian beer, pivo wine, mixed drinks, and Slivovitz are $5. On the Goat Feed’s website, their is also the opportunity to donate to both the Goat Feed and to the mission of St. Sava to protect Serbian culture here in our community.

Campfire Stories

The Mother Lode Land Trust presents an event made for the whole family. On Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, come gather around the campfire to hear storytellers weave together some of their best stories. Come enjoy live music, cocoa, s’mores, hot dogs, and more. Hot dog and s’mores packs will be available for purchase at the event for $5.

Campfire Stories takes place at the Amador Community Farm, 1334 Jackson Gate Road in Jackson, California. Gates open at 4:00 pm and stories start at 5:30 pm. Parking is $5.

Easter Bunny Photos
