Fiddler's Jam Flyer

Once again Fiddletown is “Taking It To The Street” to celebrate their namesake, the fiddle.  Come out to historic Fiddletown, California for the 73rd Annual Fiddler’s Jam.  The Fiddlers’ Jam will be held on September 21st, 2024 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.  This is one of the only free fiddlers jams in the entire nation.  Multiple stages will feature bluegrass bands, open mic, and acoustic jam sessions.  Bring your strings so you too can participate.

In addition to the music, the will be a complete street festival with artisan crafts, award-winning wine, microbrew beer, as well as country BBQ.  As Fiddletown is a historic mining town, there will be gold-rush era building tours available as well.

Plymouth Cowboy Campfire Fundraiser

Relive the cowboy campfire experience at the Plymouth Cowboy Campfire Fundraiser, June 3rd in Plymouth.  The Cowboy Campfire celebrates the legacy of Ron and Marie Scofield who have been putting on events at ranch celebrating western heritage and cowboy culture.  The Cowboy Campfire will feature an axe throwing and cornhole competition, dessert auction, and wonderful music from Dave Stamey and Ron Scofield.  Dinner will be prepared by Chef Andy’s Cross Over Kitchen.  The Cowboy Campfire will benefit the Plymouth Foothills Rotary and their programs to provide local scholarships and youth education.

The Kit Carson Mountain Men “Days of 49” Wagon Train rides again.  Mark your calendars for five days of fun, education, and entertainment from Wednesday, April 26th through Sunday, April 30th, 2023.

On Wednesday, April 26, the Wagon Train will depart Plymouth, drive through the 49er Village RV Resort, then through Main Street and then a loop through Shenandoah Valley and returning to the encampment in Plymouth.

On Thursday, April 27, the Wagon Train will start with a pass by Plymouth Elementary School and then head to Drytown through private ranch properties.  The Wagon Train will stop on Spanish Street in Drytown for photos before heading to a nearby ranch for a private encampment.

On Friday, April 28, the Wagon Train will travel down old Highway 49 into Amador City then into Sutter Creek before heading to the evening’s encampment at the Italian Picnic Grounds.  That evening there will be music, entertainment, dancing, and a BBQ dinner available for the community to enjoy.  The Italian Picnic Grounds is located at 581 California Highway 49 in Sutter Creek.

On Saturday, April 29, the Wagon Train will head along Ridge Road then to the Kit Carson Mountain Men Hut in Jackson and then to the Amador Senior Center.  Then Train will then head to their Saturday encampment at Laughton Ranch.  The public is invited to a free, full day of activities including living history programs vendors, entertainment, music and a BBQ.  Laughton Ranch is located at 90 Clinton Road in Jackson.

Finally, On Sunday, April 30, the Wagon Train heads to Main Street in Jackson for the “grand finale” with a large parade of performers, riders, and local historic groups.  That morning, start the day with a pancake breakfast at 9 am.  The parade will begin at 11 am.  Following will be first ever Days of 49 “Street” Celebration, with entertainment, living history, vendors, and kid-filled fun.

Kennedy Gold Mine Amador County Day

Come celebrate the start of the season and take tours of the historic Kennedy Gold Mine.  This is a fantastic opportunity to go back in time and explore the history of our county.  Check out the one ton quartz rock, watch blacksmithing demonstrations, and try to push an ore car.  There will also be the opportunity to pan for gold.  The grounds and buildings of the Kennedy Gold Mine will be be open with interpreters to explain the significance of this historic landmark.

Amador County Day will be held on Saturday March 5th, 2022.  Events will start at 9:30 am and run through 3 pm.  There will be a BBQ lunch served from 11:30 am to 2 pm.  Guided trail walks will take place at 10:30 am and at 1:00 pm.  Admission is free.  Free tours for Amador and Calaveras residents.

Fiddlers Jam

Amador County Fair Kick-Off BBQ

On July 15th 2023, The Amador County Fair Foundation will kick-off the Amador County Fair with the 14th Annual Fair Kick-Off BBQ.  The BBQ will run from 5:30 to 10:00 pm at Picnic Hill on the Amador County Fairgrounds.  The BBQ Dinner will be provided by Farmhouse Barbeque and will include tri-tip and BBQ chicken, ranch beans, pesto pasta, green salad, and garlic bread.  A no-host bar will also be available as well as a dessert auction and a raffle to support the Amador County Fair Foundation.
