Authors & Chocolate – Sharon Strong

Discover great new literature from amazing local authors. The Amador Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) presents Authors & Chocolate, an opportunity to hear local authors discuss the books while you enjoy a spot of tea, a tasty scone, and a chocolate truffle.

On Sunday, February 12, 2023, Sharon Strong will discuss her fourth memoir, Burning Woman: Memoirs of an Elder. Sharon’s memoir discusses her life as she defies the stereotype of a “senior citizen” with an installation at Burning Man, a trek in the Himalayas, a new love, and use of psilocybin mushrooms. Tickets for the discussion are $15 for AAUW members and $20 to members of the public. Seating is limited. Please purchase tickets at the Amador AAUW’s website. You could also contact Debra at debrown6@gmail.com for more information or for alternative ways to purchase tickets.

Authors & Chocolate will be held at the Baker Street West in Hein Bookstore. Hein Bookstore is located at 204 Main Street in Jackson.

On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Kathy Boyd Fellure will discuss her fourth novel, The Wrong Ocean, the first book in the Across The Pond series. Kathy has been writing journals, newspaper and magazine articles, but more recently published her first novel, The Language of the Lake. Find out more about Kathy on her Amazon author page.

The Vampire’s Masque

Sherlock Holmes (and all the folks at Baker Street West) invite you to The Vampire’s Masque, a Halloween Costume Party at Baker Street West.  The Vampire’s Masque will take place on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 from 7 to 10 pm.  The Vampire’s Masque will feature a costume contest, games (and of course prizes), live music, appetizers, and a no-host bar.  In addition, there will be a reading of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s, “The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire.”
