Cattlemen’s Jackpot Steer & Heifer Show

Maybe you would like to learn about local agriculture and where all that great beef in our supermarkets come from.  Here is your opportunity.  The Cattlemen’s Jackpot Steer and Heifer show is coming to the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth on Saturday and Sunday, March 5th and 6th, 2022. This is a great opportunity for local cattlemen to show off their cattle and compete for some great prizes, which include cash, belt buckles, and more. The show is open to all breeds of cattle, and there are different categories for steers and heifers. Saturday is the breeding heifer show and Sunday is the steer and market heifer show. Come out and support your local cattlemen on the first weekend in March.  The Cattlemen’s Jackpot Steer and Heifer show is sponsored by the Amador-El Dorado-Sacramento Cattlemen’s Association.

Camp Plymouth Swap Meet & Military Vehicle Show

April 19, 2023 All day

The Western U.S.’s largest annual gathering of ex-military vehicles and militaria swap meet is coming up in April in Plymouth! The Military Vehicle Collectors of California present, Camp Plymouth Swap Meet and Military Vehicle Show.  The spring show will be taking place at the 49er Village RV Resort and Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth. You can RV camp or stay in a cabin at 49er, or tent camp at the fairgrounds. And there’s no admission or parking fee!

In addition to all the great military vehicles and militaria available for viewing, buying, selling, and trading, the Camp will feature a military vehicle poker rally, a military vehicle excursion Thursday to Jimmy Strauss Jeeps, women’s social on Thursday, and a raffle Friday night.  Saturday will feature a Poker Rally.  There will also be three showcases on Friday including Military Dodges, World War Two Jeeps, and Military Motorcycles, Scooters, and Bicycles.

This is the 46th anniversary of the big spring meet.  All military vehicles are welcome, any condition.  There is no vehicle registration fee.  There are also no vendor fees for pros or amateurs although you must have a campsite or cabin rental at the 49er RV park.  Camp Sacramento begins Wednesday, April 19th and ends on Saturday, April 22nd.  Tuesday, April 18th is a set-up day.  Sunday, April 23rd will not be a show day.

Cruisin’ The Lights

Are you ready to cruise into Christmas?  On Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at the Amador County Fairgrounds, the 3rd annual Cruisin’ The Lights will allow you to drive through all the entries filled with lights.  Cruisin’ The Lights will take place from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.    And if you’re coming to Cruisin’ The Lights, make sure you check out Winter Wonderland, also at the Amador County Fairgrounds, earlier in the day.

Come stock up on some last minute gifts and warm your tummy with hot chocolate and while your tap your toes to the holiday sounds.  On Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at the Amador County Fairgrounds inside the Pavilion, the 3rd Annual Winter Wonderland Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival will feature booths with activities, food, holiday gifts, and live entertainment.  And don’t miss Santa Claus and Elf who will be there for free photos.  The Winter Wonderland will take place from 10 am to 4:00 pm.

AES Cattlewomen Drive Through Dinner

On Friday, November 18th, 2022, come out help support the next generation of ranchers and get a great meal to boot.  The Amador El Dorado Sacramento Cattlewomen’s Association (AES Cattlewomen) will be hosting their 3rd Annual Drive Through Tri-Tip Dinner.  Dinner pickup will be located at the Amador County Fair Grounds Spur Emporium.  Tickets for the dinner are $55 and feature a dinner for 4 that includes Harris Ranch Tri Tip, Salad, Ranch Beans, and Bread.  A dessert table will be available for purchase with donation.  AESCW merchandise including brand blankets, hats, visors, cups, mugs, gloves and wild rags will also be available for purchase to help you get your Christmas shopping started.  Drive-thru pickup of your meal will be between 5 and 6:30 pm.

Get ready for another wonderful year of entertainment, exhibits, animals, and great food at the Amador County Fair.  The 2022 fair, aptly titled “Around the World in Four Days,” will happen between Thursday, July 28th and Sunday, July 31st.  Tickets for the fair are $12 for adults ages 13 and older, $7 for juniors ages 7 to 12, and $9 for seniors (60 & Over).  Tickets can be purchased at the fairs ticket website or at the gate.

The fair will feature a number of ticketed entertainment and cultural events including the 2022 Hot Rod Truck Pulls on July 29th, a CCPRA Rodeo on July 30th, and the always popular Destruction Derby on July, 31st.  Also at the fair will be a wine tasting event and the kid favorite carnival wrist band.  For more information about each and to purchase tickets, click here.
