DESCRIPTION:The Sutter Creek Farmers Market is back for 2025.  Starting on May 3rd and running every Saturday through October 18th\, the Sutter Creek Farmers Market will feature the best of agricultural\, prepared foods\, and handmade products of Amador County.  The Sutter Creek Farmers Market will take place from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. \n\n\n\nThe Sutter Creek Farmers Market is produced by the Amador Farmers Market Association.  In 2025\, the Association is also producing Farmers Markets in Ione\, Plymouth\, and Volcano.  The Amador Farmers Market Association is a member of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the California Women\, Infant\, & Children Food Assistant Program (WIC) and they accept payment from both programs. \n\n\n\nAs the Association says\, “Meet your farmer. SUMMARY:Potato Pants Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The first-ever Potato Pants Challenge will take place on Saturday\, May 31\, 2025\, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Amador High School in Sutter Creek. This unique fundraiser invites participants of all ages and abilities to walk or run while wearing 20 pounds of potatoes in their pants—all to raise awareness and support for the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation\, Inc. \n\n\n\nThe event is free to attend and will feature over 30 raffle and silent auction items\, kids activities\, and a visit from local children’s entertainer Miss Tasha. Food will be available for purchase from Mother Lode Deli and Jamba Juice. Whether you’re joining the challenge or cheering from the sidelines\, the focus is on community\, inclusion\, and fun\, all in support of those living with hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) and primary lateral sclerosis (PLS). \n\n\n\nProceeds benefit the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation. SUMMARY:Italian Picnic
DESCRIPTION:The 143rd Annual Italian Picnic & Parade returns to Sutter Creek from Friday\, May 30 through Sunday\, June 1\, 2025\, continuing a long-standing Amador County tradition filled with food\, music\, dancing\, and community spirit. Hosted at the Italian Picnic Grounds\, the weekend includes a full carnival\, vendor booths\, and a celebration of Italian culture and heritage. \nThe festivities begin Friday evening when gates open at 5:00 PM. A wine and beer tasting will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM\, featuring local wineries and breweries. Live music and dancing will continue into the night\, with the grounds open until midnight. On Saturday\, the picnic opens at noon. Highlights include the all-ages spaghetti eating contest at 1:00 PM and the traditional Chicken & Ravioli Dinner at 7:00 PM (cocktails begin at 6:00 PM). The dinner is $50 and tickets can be purchased at the link below. Sunday starts with the Grand Parade through downtown Sutter Creek at 10:30 AM\, followed by a tri-tip barbecue at the picnic grounds at noon. BBQ plates are $20. Each day also features salami toss competitions\, bingo\, and a variety of carnival games and rides. \nThe Italian Picnic is held at 581 Highway 49 in Sutter Creek. Hours are Friday from 5:00 PM to midnight\, Saturday from noon to midnight\, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Entry to the picnic grounds is free. Dinner and BBQ tickets can be reserved through the Italian Benevolent Society’s website at www.italianbenevolentsociety.com or by calling 209-267-0206.
