SUMMARY:Knight Foundry Demonstration Days
DESCRIPTION:The Knight Foundry\, dubbed “America’s last water-powered foundry and machine shop\,” opens it doors every second Saturday for tours of the Foundry.  Come see blacksmiths using antique tools and equipment just as they would have done during the Gold Rush-era.  Learn the history of this shop that did much than just forge metal but that invented and produced mechanical works of wonder that allowed the mining industry to thrive throughout the West.  The Foundry is a special place\, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark and a California Registered Historical Landmark. \n\n\n\nThe Knight Foundry Second Saturday Tours are open from 10 am to 3 pm every Second Saturday of the Month.  Admission is $15 for adults 18 and old\, $5 for students age 5 to 17\, and free for children under 5.  Admission is free for Knight Foundry Alliance members and for members of a museum affiliated with the North American Reciprocal Membership program.  Tickets are sold at the door\, no reservations are necessary. \n\n\n\nThe Knight Foundry is located at 81 Eureka Street in Sutter Creek\, California.  For more information about the Foundry\, please visit their website at knightfoundry.com or contact the Foundry at 209-560-6160 or info@knightfoundry.com.

SUMMARY:Sutter Creek Fireman's Ball
DESCRIPTION:The Fireman’s Ball returns to Sutter Creek on Saturday\, August 30\, 2025\, continuing a tradition that’s been beloved by generations of locals. Held each Labor Day weekend\, this classic community celebration combines great food\, music\, and hometown spirit\, all in support of the Sutter Creek Fire Department. \n\n\n\nThe event begins at 5:30 PM at the Sutter Creek Firehouse (350 Hanford Street) with a no-host bar and an evening raffle and auction. Dinner is served at 6:30 PM and features tri-tip and spaghetti prepared by the Sutter Creek firefighters\, followed by a homemade dessert bar courtesy of the Sutter Creek Kindness Club. From 7:30 to 10:00 PM\, guests can enjoy live music and dancing with Darin Sexton & Highway 49. \n\n\n\nTickets are $40 for adults and $15 for children under 12. Seating will be available inside the fire bay or outdoors in the shaded area behind the firehouse\, rain or shine. The Fireman’s Ball is hosted by the Sutter Creek Community Benefit Foundation\, the Sutter Creek Fire Department\, and the Rotary Club Passport to Amador. DESCRIPTION:The Knight Foundry\, dubbed “America’s last water-powered foundry and machine shop\,” opens it doors every second Saturday for tours of the Foundry.  Come see blacksmiths using antique tools and equipment just as they would have done during the Gold Rush-era.  Learn the history of this shop that did much than just forge metal but that invented and produced mechanical works of wonder that allowed the mining industry to thrive throughout the West.  The Foundry is a special place\, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark and a California Registered Historical Landmark. \n\n\n\nThe Knight Foundry Second Saturday Tours are open from 10 am to 3 pm every Second Saturday of the Month.  Admission is $15 for adults 18 and old\, $5 for students age 5 to 17\, and free for children under 5.  Admission is free for Knight Foundry Alliance members and for members of a museum affiliated with the North American Reciprocal Membership program.  Tickets are sold at the door\, no reservations are necessary. \n\n\n\nThe Knight Foundry is located at 81 Eureka Street in Sutter Creek\, California.  For more information about the Foundry\, please visit their website at knightfoundry.com or contact the Foundry at 209-560-6160 or info@knightfoundry.com.

SUMMARY:Frankly Bluegrass Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Frankly Bluegrass Music Festival returns to the scenic Amador County Fairgrounds for its second year. Festival-goers can expect a lively three-day celebration of music\, camping\, food\, drinks\, arts and crafts\, and unforgettable performances under the stars. Located in the historic foothill town of Plymouth\, California\, this all-ages event invites attendees to enjoy one of the region’s most spirited musical gatherings in a beautiful\, welcoming setting. \n\n\n\nThe festival officially runs Friday through Sunday\, September 19–21\, 2025\, with early camping beginning Wednesday\, September 17. Attendees are encouraged to bring RVs or tents\, or stay at nearby hotels such as the Best Western Amador Inn in Jackson\, which offers a discounted rate for festival guests. Delicious food will be available from morning to evening\, alongside a wide selection of craft vendors and a booth serving adult beverages. The event will take place rain or shine. \n\n\n\nMusical acts span genres including bluegrass\, Americana\, and Hawaiian music\, and include both national favorites and local talent. The band performance schedule will be announced closer to the event date. \n\n\n\nPerformers include: \n\n\n\n\nDanny Paisley & The Southern Grass\n\n\n\nSeth Mulder & Midnight Run\n\n\n\nKevin Prater Band\n\n\n\nMonroe Crossing\n\n\n\nLarry Efaw & The Bluegrass Mountaineers\n\n\n\nThe High Water Line\n\n\n\nCaltucky\n\n\n\nRed Dog Ash\n\n\n\nJohn Cruz\n\n\n\n\nTickets begin at $95 without camping or single day tickets at $35 for Friday or Saturday and $25 for Sunday. DESCRIPTION:Once again\, Fiddletown is “Taking It to the Street” for the 74th Annual Fiddlers’ Jam\, a lively celebration of the town’s musical roots and community spirit. This year’s event takes place on Saturday\, September 20\, 2025\, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in historic downtown Fiddletown. One of the few free fiddlers’ jams in the country\, the event features live music\, a fiddle contest\, open mic performances\, and informal acoustic jams—so bring your instrument and join in. \n\n\n\nThe festival also includes microbrew beer\, award-winning wines\, food vendors\, and artisan crafts. Visitors can explore the town’s rich history through tours of its preserved Gold Rush-era buildings\, making the Fiddlers’ Jam a full day of music\, culture\, and community. \n\n\n\nAdmission is free. Parking is limited near the event\, so guests are encouraged to carpool when possible. Additional parking is available a short walk away. The event is presented by the Fiddletown Community Center.
