DESCRIPTION:Ione Homecoming returns for its 150th celebration\, bringing two days of small-town tradition\, family fun\, and community spirit to Ione. This longtime annual event features a packed schedule of hometown favorites\, with activities for all ages happening throughout Friday and Saturday. \n\n\n\nFriday’s lineup includes the Kids Costume Parade\, fireworks\, Mutton Bustin’\, a social gathering\, lead line\, cornhole\, ACLLW baseball games\, and live music. Saturday continues with the Bedbug Challenge\, pancake breakfast\, the annual Homecoming Parade\, petting zoo\, lawn mower races\, live music\, frog jump\, candy drop\, calf and cow chip bingo\, soap box derby races\, carnival fun\, bingo\, food trucks\, the Andy Bonham Memorial Team Roping\, bull riding\, goat roping\, ranch bronc riding\, horseshoe tournament\, Kids Corner\, craft vendors\, the Ione Mustang Alumni Dinner\, and the chili\, rib\, and salsa cook-off. \n\n\n\nThe 150th Ione Homecoming takes place Friday and Saturday\, May 8 and 9\, 2026\, in Ione\, with many activities centered around Howard Park at 600 South Church Street. SUMMARY:Jug & Rose
DESCRIPTION:Join the fun and take part in one of Amador County’s longest-running traditions\, the Jug & Rose Walk/Run\, hosted by Amador High Performing Arts. The event includes a 7.7-mile course through the scenic foothills of the Mother Lode and welcomes both walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. \n\n\n\nThe Jug & Rose begins in Volcano.  The non-competitive walk begins at 9:15 a.m.\, the open walk at 9:30 a.m.\, and the run starts at 10 a.m. Ribbons and shirts go to all participants. Awards will be presented to winners of the open walk\, male and female run divisions\, and 10-year age groups. Special awards recognize the youngest and oldest participants\, best theme group\, and even best and worst dressed. \n\n\n\nEarly registration is $25 and closes Friday\, October 24. Race-day registration is $30. Entry forms are available by contacting Amador High Performing Arts at 330 Spanish Street\, Sutter Creek\, CA 95685\, by email at gturner@acusd.org\, or by phone at 209-257-7329. \n\n\n\nEntry forms can also be picked up at local sponsor locations\, including Cooper and Deaver Vineyards in Shenandoah Valley\, Choc-O-Latte and Amador High Drama in Sutter Creek\, Gordon Hill Flower Shop in Jackson\, and the Volcano Union Inn + Pub and Sizemore Country Store in Volcano.

DESCRIPTION:Start loosening your glutes\, as the Amador County Recreation Agency (ACAR) presents the 49er 5k/10k run/walk on Saturday\, May 20th\, 2023 in Amador City. SUMMARY:Bedbug Challenge 5k Color Run
DESCRIPTION:This year\, the Bedbug Challenge has gone County wide.  Help send Amador County 5th and 6th Graders to Science Camp while you get fit and have fun at the Bedbug Challenge 5k Color Run.  The goal is to raise $125\,000 to send 270 students to camp in the spring of 2024.  \nThe Bedbug Challenge begins at the Castle Oaks golf course and winds through the Castle Oaks neighborhood in Ione\, California.  Enjoy 5 color stations plus water and snacks at the finish line.  Participants who register before April 14th receive a free t-shirt. \nThe Bedbug Challenge will take place on Saturday May 13th\, 2023.  Check in begins at 7 am and the race starts at 8.  Entry cost starts at $30 for individuals or $50 for families (up to five…each additional person is $10).  For tickets\, please visit the ticketing page on Brown Paper Tickets.   You can also visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bedbugchallenge
