DESCRIPTION:Ione Homecoming weekend will also feature the 150th Ione Homecoming Rodeo Show\, bringing two days of rodeo action to Howard Park. Friday’s Kids Corral includes leadline\, mutton bustin’\, peewee goat roping\, and goat ribbon pulling\, while Saturday features breakaway roping\, goat roping\, the Andy Bonham Memorial Team Roping\, ranch bronc\, and bull riding. \n\n\n\nFriday’s leadline event begins at 5 PM\, with check-in starting at 3 PM. On Saturday\, breakaway roping begins at 8 AM with check-in at 7 AM\, the Andy Bonham Memorial Team Roping begins at 12 PM with registration starting at 8 AM\, goat roping begins at 3 PM with registration starting at 11 AM\, and both ranch bronc and bull riding begin at 6 PM with check-in starting at 12 PM. The Andy Bonham Memorial Team Roping is for Amador and Calaveras locals only. \n\n\n\nThe 150th Ione Homecoming Rodeo Show takes place Friday and Saturday\, May 8 and 9\, 2026\, at the Ed Hughes Memorial Arena in Howard Park\, Ione\, CA. Saturday continues with the Bedbug Challenge\, pancake breakfast\, the annual Homecoming Parade\, petting zoo\, lawn mower races\, live music\, frog jump\, candy drop\, calf and cow chip bingo\, soap box derby races\, carnival fun\, bingo\, food trucks\, the Andy Bonham Memorial Team Roping\, bull riding\, goat roping\, ranch bronc riding\, horseshoe tournament\, Kids Corner\, craft vendors\, the Ione Mustang Alumni Dinner\, and the chili\, rib\, and salsa cook-off. \n\n\n\nThe 150th Ione Homecoming takes place Friday and Saturday\, May 8 and 9\, 2026\, in Ione\, with many activities centered around Howard Park at 600 South Church Street. Set in the 1960s during Labor Day weekend at a remote Catskills cottage\, the story follows a newlywed advertising man whose bride disappears on their honeymoon\, only to be replaced by a mysterious woman claiming to be his wife. With the arrival of a priest and a bumbling detective\, the plot twists into a clever whodunit filled with confusion\, suspicion\, red herrings\, and a surprise ending. \n\n\n\nPerformances take place in Volcano’s intimate Cobblestone Theatre\, where even the furthest seats are close to the stage. Tickets are $24 for general admission and $22 for seniors. Seating is limited to just 45 people\, so advance tickets are recommended.
